40 hours every 2 yrs (Recertification returns to a two year cycle in 2014).
2.5 hours allowed through distant learning (online/homestudy).
Maryland does not accept distance learning for initial certification requirements.
The 2.5 hours of distance learning accepted for relicensure can only be applied from the second renewal period forward – distance learning can not be used on the initial (first) relicensure period.
