About the Course:
This manual offers treatment strategies based on the transtheoretical model of behavior change. In this model, change is seen as a progression through a series of five stages. Clinicians are trained to assess clients’ readiness to change and to enhance client motivation by utilizing various techniques. It presents materials and instructions for conducting 29 group sessions. These sessions can also be adapted for use in individual sessions.
This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially addiction counselors, psychologists, mental health counselors, social workers, and nurses who work with substance abusing clients. It is appropriate for participants at all levels of knowledge.
