TIP 42: Chapter 4 – Assessment for Persons with Co-Occurring Disorders provides an overview of the basic screening and assessment approaches that should be part of any program for clients with co-occurring disorders (COD). Also included in this chapter is an outline of the 12 steps to an ideal assessment with some instruments that can be used in assesing COD and a discussion of key considerations in treatment matching.
