This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially addiction counselors, psychologists, mental health counselors, social workers, and nurses who seek knowledge about suicide prevention in juvenile facilities. It is appropriate for introductory to intermediate levels of participants' knowledge.

Course Objectives:

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  1. Describe the risk factors for adolescent suicide.
  2. Identify the critical components of a suicide prevention policy.
  3. Explain how intake screening and ongoing assessment of all confined youth are critical to a juvenile facilities suicide-prevention efforts.
