Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents With Bipolar Disorder

Results from a Pilot Randomized Trial

About the Course

Pilot study of treatment for adolescents with bipolar disorder receiving dialectical behavior therapy versus treatment as usual. Study measured changes in mania, depression, suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and non-suicidal self-injury. Findings indicate that DBT may offer promise as an adjunct to pharmacotherapy in the treatment of depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation for adolescents with BP. The DBT focus on commitment to treatment may be important for the treatment of early onset BP.

This course is based on the article, Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents with Bipolar Disorder created by Tina R Goldstein, PhD. et al. in 2015.
